Mari Dickenson

Hi! My name is Mari, a Biochemistry BSc graduate from Imperial College London, and I work now as a full-time private tutor.

I am committed to making education accessible, and I aim to provide a safe space for students to explore academic concepts freely, without the pressure of being within a school classroom. It is particularly important to me that we understand that not everybody learns in the same way. Therefore, I tailor my tutoring strategy to each individual student.

I have always found teaching extremely rewarding, with 8 years of teaching experience. In this time, I have tutored students in Maths and English at primary school in the 7+ and 11+, and up to GCSE & A-level for Maths & Sciences. For my students taking examinations, I understand and empathise with students struggling with the immense workload, pressures and expectations. I really enjoy working with students through these tough years, as I have created fool-proof strategies to ensure complete exam preparation. I tutor based off scientific strategies, including active recall, spaced repetition, and lots of exam practice. I have an excellent tutoring track record, with 100% of my students increasing their exam results by minimum 2 exam grades, sometimes 3 or even 4!

I believe I am a bubbly and approachable tutor with a genuine passion for making schoolwork and revising fun and engaging. I hope to alleviate the stress and pressure off of studying with my tutees, ensuring I bring an enthusiastic approach to each session where each student feels safe and supported!
