Katie Hudson

I am an experienced, qualified teacher that taught in schools for nearly 9 years. I now offer private lessons so that I can continue to make a difference to young pupils and I enjoy seeing them thrive. In my personal opinion every child can succeed, they just need to be given the right tools! I always aim for my lessons to be fun, with some learning games but, first and foremost I focus on increasing children's confidence through my friendly approach. I teach every aspect of literacy (phonics, spelling, writing, spelling, handwriting) as well as maths. I specialise in teaching phonics and I teach to the scheme children learn or have previously learnt in schools. I have specific training in Read Write inc, Letters and Sounds and Little Wandle. At my previous school I had my own class and I also planned and taught effective interventions to support children's learning. I learnt how to incorporate phonics into reading support and comprehension and move children's learning on. I am also up to date with new ways of teaching maths using part whole models, 10s frames and many more. I teach children from Reception up to Year 3.
